Open Work Permit

An open work permit is designed for foreign nationals willing to work in Canada. With this type of permit, foreign individuals can work for any Canadian employer in any location for a fixed time period. In addition to that, the open work permits are exempt from Labour Market Impact Assessment, making it a sought-after choice for many across the world.

There are, however, restricted open work permits which limits an individual from working in a specific job or industry. Foreign workers can apply for an open work permit from anywhere, even from outside Canada.

Candidates are eligible for an open work permit if he/she is:-

• A Spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner of a foreign skilled worker or international student.
• Any international graduate who has completed a study program of a minimum 8 months duration.
• Already applied for Permanent Residency through inland spousal sponsorship.
• Already residing in Canada as a refugee or protected person.
